About Colm

Colm Anthony is a children’s author and storyteller, born and raised in Rossport, Co. Mayo, Ireland. He left home as a teenager and made his way to England, where he now lives in London.

Inspired by his family, childhood memories and a lifelong love of storytelling, Colm writes warm, imaginative stories for children that explore kindness, empathy, friendship and compassion.

A proud grandad, Colm enjoys sharing his stories with young readers and believes that a good children’s book should bring a smile, spark the imagination and leave a little something to think about.

Colm’s stories are rooted in the tradition of old-fashioned storytelling — simple ideas, colourful characters, plenty of imagination and a little humour along the way.

The Emily series began with stories created for his granddaughter Emily. What started as bedtime stories gradually grew into a collection of children's books, bringing those adventures to young readers everywhere.
